This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
β’ Assist in the special education evaluation process by preparing for, conducting, scoring, documenting, and aiding in psychological and educational assessments under standard testing conditions and adhering to required protocols.
β’ Collaborate closely with school staff, case managers, and special education leadership to ensure evaluations are performed accurately, securely, and within the timelines mandated by IDEA.
β’ Help organize testing logistics, manage assessment materials, communicate any concerns related to test validity or timelines, and assist in data collection and preliminary interpretation to guide eligibility and IEP team decision-making.
β’ Prepare and conduct psychological, educational, and/or social-emotional behavioral tests in diverse formats utilizing virtual tools.
β’ Clarify testing procedures and objectives to students, and assist them in adhering to testing protocols and procedures to ensure tests are completed appropriately.
β’ Support school staff in administering and completing evaluations and other assessments necessary to determine student eligibility or collect data for IEP team purposes, as appropriate.
β’ Keep track of testing supplies, instruments, and equipment available and reorder replacement stock as needed.
β’ Conduct basic interpretation of standardized tests of psychological functioning, as applicable, and provide recommendations to the attending case manager regarding the need for retesting, additional testing, or programming considerations.
β’ Safeguard the confidentiality of test results and recommendations while maintaining the security of testing materials.
β’ Certification in school psychometry from a state-approved program is required.
β’ Must possess and uphold all necessary Alabama credentials, certifications, or authorizations to administer psycho-educational assessments in compliance with ALSDE and program expectations.
β’ A minimum of two years of experience in administering psycho-educational assessments, including individual intelligence tests, educational inventories, diagnostic instruments, and specialized testing for specific disability conditions.
β’ Experience in supporting school-based evaluations, eligibility processes, and assessment administration; experience with virtual assessments is preferred.
β’ Strong understanding of standardized testing procedures, assessment protocols, test security, documentation requirements, and confidentiality expectations.
β’ Proficient technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
β’ Highly organized and punctual.
β’ Availability to work at least 20 hours per week during school hours with a consistent weekly schedule, and up to 30 hours as required by caseload.
