This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Examine medical records to pinpoint relevant diagnoses and procedures connected to the patient's healthcare encounter.

• Assign Evaluation & Management (E/M) levels for emergency room visits, including both facility and professional components.

• Designate principal and secondary CPT codes along with corresponding charges for procedures and injections/infusions conducted in the emergency room.

• Apply appropriate modifiers to CPT codes in accordance with hospital, payer, or state regulations.

• Extract relevant information from the medical record based on guidelines provided by the client after a comprehensive review.

• Seek clarification from the physician regarding any ambiguous or conflicting documentation within the medical record, following client guidance.

• Engage in Coding Roundtables by presenting materials, articles, and contemporary issues related to coding and Health Information Management.

• Keep up-to-date with the information contained in the Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

• Exhibit effective and professional communication skills.

• Enhance the company's reputation by demonstrating professionalism, adaptability, and mutual respect.


⛳️ Requirements

• CPC, COC Coding Credentials.

• Over 3 years of experience coding Facility-HB charts, specifically in Outpatient settings (Ancillary, Clinic, and ED).

• Proficient in coding Ancillary: ICD & CPT.

• Experience in Clinic coding: ICD, CPT, E&Ms.

• Familiarity with ED coding: ICD, CPT, E&Ms, I&Is.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Knowledgeable in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes.

• Comprehensive understanding of CPT/HCPCS coding principles and guidelines, reimbursement systems, and federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies concerning documentation, coding, and billing.

• A passing score on the coding proficiency tests is mandatory.
