Part-time Instructor – EDUC 434 – Contemporary Issues in Public Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• The Department of Teacher Education and StFX Online Learning & Professional Studies is seeking applications for a Part-time Academic Instructor for the following course: Course Number and Title: EDUC 434 - Contemporary Issues in Public Education.

• This course explores the historical, legal, and philosophical foundations of contemporary challenges faced by public schooling.

• It delves into the goals, purposes, and dilemmas that have influenced various aspects of education, including the structure of Canadian schooling, the political and policy-making processes, educational law, the roles of teachers’ organizations, and educational standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a foundational understanding and knowledge of working within MK schools.

• Be recognized as outstanding educators based on their previous teaching experiences.

• Hold a PhD or MEd (or equivalent) along with extensive teaching experience.

• Demonstrate leadership in their respective fields.

• Preference will be given to individuals who are Mi’kmaw speakers or have an understanding of and some fluency in the language.
