Part-time Faculty, Education Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Instruct courses within a clinical practice framework, including capstone courses as a requirement for candidates pursuing an Education Specialist teaching credential.

• Engage with students, provide exceptional feedback, and motivate them to meet course and program objectives pertinent to the core discipline.

• Collaborate closely with fellow faculty members teaching in the discipline, as well as Clinical Practice faculty and staff.

• Act as a liaison between students and their designated clinical placement sites for practical experience.

• Deliver meaningful, timely evaluations and feedback to students regarding various teaching performance expectations showcased through videorecorded teaching demonstrations.

• Fulfill all required tasks within set deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessments, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.).

• Maintain appropriate professional development and/or scholarly activities, as applicable.

• Offer feedback to the course lead concerning course content.

• Recognize at-risk students and work in collaboration with student services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree or higher in special education or a related field.

• A valid and clear California education specialist or special education teaching credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

• Over 5 years of experience teaching students with disabilities in a California public school environment, covering grades TK-22.

• Proficiency in common online tools such as Zoom.

• Up-to-date knowledge of special education, diversity, and instructional design.

• Residency and eligibility to work in California as an active educator in NORTHERN California.
