Part-Time Faculty – Artificial Intelligence, School of STEM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide online instruction to undergraduate and/or graduate students.

• Initiate, facilitate, engage in, and oversee online classroom discussions.

• Conduct classes utilizing the Community of Inquiry Framework.

• Assess and grade coursework, assignments, and papers in accordance with APUS policy timelines.

• Offer constructive feedback to enhance student learning and achievement.

• Participate in online classrooms and respond to emails at least every other day, including one day over the weekend.

• Adhere to APUS guidelines, procedures, instructional materials, and expectations for quality faculty engagement.

• Engage in professional development activities.

• Conduct scholarly research and partake in professional engagement initiatives.

• Attend meetings specific to the discipline and administrative matters.

• Stay updated in the discipline through professional communities.

• Support various APUS initiatives and departments.

• Follow APUS policies related to work products and intellectual property.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Machine Learning, Business Administration, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is mandatory.

• A minimum of three years of experience in AI, Business, Education, IT, or a related industry is required.

• A proven track record of excellence in teaching.

• A Doctoral degree is preferred.

• Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.

• Online teaching experience is preferred.

• Graduate Faculty must complete the Graduate Faculty Certification (APUS501) within 90 days of employment.

• All faculty are required to complete the “Engaging the First-Year Student Certification” course (APUS110) within six months of hiring.

• Candidates with degrees from foreign institutions must submit a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES-approved agency; any associated costs will be the applicant's responsibility.

• Applicants must upload a CV and unofficial transcripts demonstrating their master's degree and higher when applying.
