Part Time Facility, Profee Outpatient – ED, Clinic, Ancillary Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate medical records to pinpoint relevant diagnoses and procedures related to patient healthcare encounters.

• Assign Evaluation & Management (E/M) levels for both facility and professional emergency room visits.

• Allocate principal and secondary CPT codes along with corresponding charges for emergency room procedures and injections/infusions.

• Utilize appropriate CPT modifiers in compliance with hospital, payer, or state regulations.

• Extract relevant information from medical records in accordance with client standards.

• Seek physician clarification for any ambiguous or conflicting documentation.

• Engage in Coding Roundtables by sharing materials, articles, and addressing current coding and Health Information Management topics.

• Keep updated with the latest Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

• Foster effective and professional communication.

• Enhance the company’s reputation through professionalism, adaptability, and mutual respect.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPC or COC coding credentials are mandatory.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in coding Facility-HB outpatient charts, including ancillary, clinic, and emergency department charts.

• Proficient in coding ancillary charts utilizing ICD and CPT.

• Skilled in coding clinic charts with ICD, CPT, and E/M codes.

• Experienced in coding emergency department charts with ICD, CPT, E/M, injection, and infusion codes.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes.

• Comprehensive knowledge of CPT coding principles and guidelines.

• Familiarity with reimbursement systems and federal, state, and payer-specific documentation, coding, and billing regulations and policies.

• A passing score on the coding proficiency test is required.
