Coder, Physician Practice – CPC Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Extract clinical information and assign CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes from medical records and relevant documents to facilitate physicians’ professional fees.

• Abstract billing for outpatient evaluation and management codes, minor surgical procedures, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation.

• Allocate CPT-4, ICD-10-CM codes, and modifiers accurately.

• Investigate basic coding and billing issues and suggest suitable coding and billing strategies.

• Collaborate with the American Medical Association, specialty societies, and coding consultants as necessary.

• Review medical records to assess coding appropriateness and identify potential patterns of misuse.

• Partner with Coding/Charge/Audit Analysts to address and resolve coding challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of two years of coding experience with records and/or equivalent education (completion of AAPC course or a coding program at a trade school).

• Proficiency in performing tasks within a Microsoft Windows environment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to execute tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

• Capability to make informed decisions.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Prior experience with an electronic legal health record system is preferred.

• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology and Medical terminology is essential.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is mandatory.

• Candidates must complete and pass onsite testing in Marlton, NJ before the interview.
