This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Efficiently and accurately code/abstract patient health records for Tenet facilities.
• Employ coding skills to assess flagged cases in CARDS and RevInt for coding precision.
• Support coding quality evaluations/audits and conduct second-level reviews as necessary.
• Participate in Tenet coding educational programs and uphold coding credentials.
• An associate’s degree or higher in a Health Information Management field.
• Completion of at least one AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) certified program, with the corresponding professional credential preferred (RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS, etc.).
• 1-3 years of experience in inpatient coding.
• Proficient in and knowledgeable about the MS Office suite.
• Strong technical expertise and experience with electronic medical records.
• A pre-employment coding proficiency assessment will be required.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in a Health Information Management discipline is preferred.
• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience is preferred.
• Experience in coding within a large, complex health system is preferred.
