This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Play a vital instructional role in the teacher’s subject area, utilizing ICL Academy’s internal learning management system, student information system, curriculum, and supportive technologies.
• Assist students with a diverse array of passions, strengths, interests, and needs.
• Facilitate the school’s synchronous learning program (the weekly live seminar experience) along with the asynchronous learning program.
• Design and deliver impactful, interactive weekly live seminars in the teacher’s subject area throughout the academic year.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning atmosphere.
• Promote student participation and peer-to-peer interaction during the live seminars.
• Ensure that learning objectives are successfully met in the live seminars.
• Execute essential administrative duties related to teaching as outlined by the Academic Department Chair, Director of Curriculum, and/or the Head of School.
• Maintain the school’s academic integrity policy and report violations to the student, family, academic advisor, and Academic Department Chair as necessary.
• Engage in an annual teacher observation process as mandated by the Academic Department Chair and/or Head of School.
• Provide timely (within 5 business days), accurate, personalized, and high-quality grading and feedback on students’ academic work.
• Keep an up-to-date gradebook for all courses within the learning management system.
• Utilize the school’s AI grading platform, BusyBee, to enhance the quality of grading feedback.
• Ensure timely provision of grading, feedback, and communication during the course extension period each semester.
• Conduct four 1-hour live office hour sessions each week during the academic year to address student inquiries, concerns, and learning requirements.
• Respond promptly (within 24 hours) and professionally to emails and phone calls from students and families.
• Relay important student updates and concerns to the academic advising team and other academic team members as needed.
• Collaborate with academic team members to facilitate student success.
• Report any curricular errors, concerns, and suggestions for improvement to the Academic Department Chair and/or the Director of Curriculum.
• Attend monthly faculty and/or department meetings as required by the Academic Department Chair and/or Head of School.
• Participate in the beginning-of-term faculty orientation each August and January.
• Attend any additional mandatory meetings/orientations as required by the Academic Department Chair, Director of Curriculum, and/or Head of School.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• A Master’s degree in teaching, curriculum design, and/or a related field is preferred.
• Required content expertise in the academic area of need (English, math, science, social studies, world languages, and/or electives).
• Active state teaching certification is preferred.
• Preferred experience in teaching and/or tutoring within a virtual environment.
• Experience supporting highly motivated or specialized students is beneficial.
• Ability to engage virtual students through dynamic interactive and creative lessons and discussions.
• Proficiency in the use of student information systems and learning management systems.
• Highly organized with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to cultivate a collaborative work environment.
• A professional who operates with integrity and ethics.
• High degree of adaptability and flexibility.
• Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
