This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Oversee, guide, and support a team of removal paralegals through daily mentorship and performance feedback.
• Encourage professional growth and development among paralegals, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Track and analyze team performance metrics; conduct regular assessments and provide constructive coaching.
• Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for new paralegal team members as necessary.
• Aid the Paralegal Manager in managing team metrics, ensuring adherence to all processes and procedures.
• Supervise the drafting, preparation, and filing of legal documents related to removal defense cases, such as briefs, motions, and appeals.
• Work in conjunction with attorneys to devise and implement legal strategies in removal proceedings.
• Perform legal research and support case development by utilizing current immigration laws, policies, and case law.
• Stay informed about changes in immigration law, particularly regarding removal defense, and offer guidance to the team as needed.
• Maintain precise and well-organized digital case files and documentation for all client matters.
• Ensure prompt case processing, compliance with court and agency deadlines, and adherence to internal quality standards.
• Act as a project advisor by assessing risks, preventing errors, and ensuring the successful rollout of new initiatives.
• Manage performance processes to ensure effective handling of cases and tasks while avoiding delays.
• Identify and execute enhancements in workflows, documentation, and resource utilization to boost operational efficiency.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and add value for both the firm and its clients.
• Communicate proficiently with clients, witnesses, and stakeholders in both English and Spanish.
• Address and resolve escalated client issues in coordination with attorneys or legal leadership.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of paralegal experience, including a minimum of 1 year in removal defense.
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity within a legal team.
• Comprehensive knowledge of immigration law and procedures specific to removal defense.
• Strong organizational and case management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Tools.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving skills for managing complex case coordination.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote work setting.
• High ethical standards and a strong commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and legal integrity.
