This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Draft witness statements, position statements, and relevant legal documents.
• Prepare court applications for various family law matters, including the Children Act, Family Law Act, Matrimonial Causes Act, TOLATA, and others.
• Review statements and supporting evidence from opposing parties.
• Compile, organize, and format court bundles and exhibits to meet court-ready standards.
• Oversee cases from start to finish, ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and submitted promptly.
• Conduct client consultations via phone and video, providing guidance and reassurance throughout the legal process.
• Gather and manage client information to facilitate case preparation.
• Draft professional correspondence for clients to be used in legal proceedings.
• Manage client onboarding and ensure that all necessary documentation is collected.
• Maintain and update CRM systems as cases progress.
• Assist with legal research, reporting, and administrative tasks as necessary.
• Support the delivery of structured and productized service offerings.
• Keep accurate timesheet records and monitor work progress.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal, with a strong preference for experience in family law.
• Proven capability to manage cases independently from beginning to end, with minimal supervision.
• Extensive experience in drafting legal documents, witness statements, and court applications.
• Practical experience in preparing court bundles and organizing supporting evidence.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage clients via phone and video, including handling sensitive situations.
• Strong understanding of UK family law processes and documentation requirements.
• Highly organized with exceptional administrative skills, capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring all documentation is accurate and ready for court.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Competent in Microsoft Office and Adobe, with a quick ability to learn new tools and systems.
• Experience utilizing CRM systems, legal tools, and AI tools to enhance productivity and workflow efficiency.
• Background in legal research, reporting, and document formatting.
