Outpatient Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Precisely code medical records for outpatient services at the hospital;

• Assign, sequence, edit, and/or validate the correct ICD-10-CM and HCPCS/CPT codes for the outpatient services delivered by the hospital.

• Comply with the Official CMS Coding Guidelines and the Facility Coding Compliance policies and procedures.

• Ensure all charges are accurately entered into the EMR system.

• Review and assess medical record documentation.

• Review and address coding edits, denials, and rejections;

• Assist with additional tasks as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Active Coding Certification from AHIMA or AAPC is mandatory.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in outpatient hospital coding.

• Familiarity with Epic is necessary.

• Experience in coding for wound care, oncology, injections & infusions, facility ER, trauma, and/or outpatient surgery is preferred.

• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Advanced and proficient understanding of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10.

• Self-motivated and enthusiastic about our mission and values of delivering quality work.

• Must possess professional-level skills in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to type proficiently and at an effective pace.

• Proficient in applying standard business/office processes and technical applications.
