This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Examine medical records, imaging studies, and other relevant documentation pertaining to orthopedic injuries and conditions.
• Draft detailed written reports and expert opinions based on the review of medical records and findings from examinations.
• Perform comprehensive medical examinations of plaintiffs and defendants as needed.
• Offer expert testimony during depositions, trials, and other legal proceedings through telephone, video conference, or in-person appearances.
• Work in collaboration with attorneys to deliver medical expertise and strategic insights.
• Keep abreast of current medical literature, research, and advancements in orthopedic medicine and surgery.
• Maintain precise time records and submit accurate invoices in line with company procedures.
• Travel out of state may be required on short notice for testimony and examinations.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Current, unrestricted medical license in good standing.
• Ongoing maintenance of relevant certifications and continuing education requirements.
• At least 5 years of clinical experience in orthopedic surgery.
• Prior experience as an expert witness or in forensic consultation is preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to articulate complex medical concepts in layperson's terms.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Professional demeanor and appearance suitable for testimony.
• Attention to detail and precision in documentation.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines without supervision.
• Proficient in electronic medical records and computer systems.
