Orientation & Mobility Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Conduct in-person assessments and deliver services in accordance with IEP specifications.

• Collaborate with parents, educators, and students to establish consistent service schedules.

• Formulate IEP goals pertinent to the educational environment.

• Instruct on travel skills, encompassing sensory efficiency, cane techniques, orientation methods, and environmental awareness.

• Suggest suitable accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology options to school personnel.

• Ensure adherence to state and school regulations.

• Keep precise documentation, including service logs and progress updates.

• Gather data to monitor advancement towards IEP objectives.

• Offer training and support to families and staff members.

• Engage in IEP meetings and collaborative school team initiatives.

• Uphold a professional work atmosphere and reliable schedule.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist.

• Valid state certification in Orientation & Mobility as mandated by the state department of education.
