This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +4 more states.
• Oversee, enhance, and sustain enterprise Oracle database environments.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of production systems.
• Administer and manage a collection of production databases.
• Conduct database performance tuning and execution plan evaluations.
• Implement strategies for backup, restoration, recovery, point-in-time recovery, and database duplication.
• Manage Oracle multitenant Container Database (CDB) and Pluggable Database (PDB) creation, cloning, plug/unplug operations, and resource allocation.
• Execute large-scale Data Pump exports and imports, including migrations across platforms and versions.
• Administer Oracle Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, covering storage, kernel parameters, systemd, ASM, and filesystem configurations.
• Carry out character set migrations, including conversion to AL32UTF8.
• Develop shell scripts to automate database operations.
• Assist with large database migrations, preferably across different platforms.
• Configure and test Active Data Guard failover when applicable.
• Monitor database fleets utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager or EM Express, where relevant.
• Over 7 years of experience as an Oracle database administrator or database engineer supporting production systems.
• More than 3 years of specific experience with Oracle 19c Enterprise Edition, including multitenant setups.
• Proven ownership of at least one significant database migration, ideally across platforms.
• Experience managing a fleet of databases instead of a single flagship instance.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 19c as a principal responsibility.
• Familiarity with multitenant architecture, including CDB/PDB creation, cloning, plug/unplug operations, and resource management.
• Proficient in RMAN for backup strategies, restoration, recovery, point-in-time recovery, and database duplication.
• Experience with large-scale Data Pump export/import, including cross-platform and cross-version transfers.
• Knowledge of Oracle Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, including storage layout, kernel parameters, systemd, and ASM or filesystem configuration.
• Experience in character set migration, particularly conversion to AL32UTF8.
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, execution plan analysis, and instance-level performance optimization.
• Skill in shell scripting for database automation.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
