This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
β’ Act as the lead Oracle Applications DBA for the long-term Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of OCI environments, taking ownership of operational stability, performance, and ongoing service enhancements throughout the engagement lifecycle.
β’ Direct and manage extensive O&M operations, which include production support, release management, environment migrations, environment refreshes and cloning, as well as intricate infrastructure troubleshooting.
β’ Execute and supervise hands-on Oracle EBS Applications DBA tasks such as adop patching, AutoConfig, full APPL_TOP cloning, Concurrent Manager configuration and tuning, OAM, Forms/Reports administration, Workflow, and XML/BI Publisher.
β’ Spearhead platform and cloud migration projects, including transitions from Solaris to Linux on Exadata and OCI.
β’ Deliver Oracle Infrastructure and Cloud Data/BI solutions, ensuring that operational results meet client SLAs and business objectives.
β’ Strategize, plan, and implement quarterly security patch cycles for the complete Oracle stack, encompassing CPU/RU database patches and RUP/AD/TXK, WebLogic, OHS, JDK, and APPL_TOP patches.
β’ Design and maintain centralized monitoring and alerting systems for high availability components.
β’ Execute and manage OEM Cloud Control monitoring, including agent deployment and setup, metric thresholds, and incident rules.
β’ Lead performance tuning for Oracle across database and application layers, assisting development teams with SQL and execution plan evaluations.
β’ Take full responsibility for disaster recovery readiness, including Data Guard configuration and alerting, and scheduled DR testing (switchover and failover validation).
β’ Champion the automation of routine DBA tasks through scripting and RPA to minimize manual workloads.
β’ Manage ITIL-aligned Incident, Problem, and Change Management for the DBA workstream.
β’ Create and oversee deployment and change management protocols for database modifications.
β’ Establish, document, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational standards under a formal document management system.
β’ Proven track record in platform migrations (Solaris to Linux, on-premises to Exadata/OCI) and managing large-scale environment refresh and cloning tasks.
β’ Demonstrated expertise in designing disaster recovery strategies and executing comprehensive DR testing with complete documentation.
β’ Strong skills in automation and scripting (shell scripting required, experience with RPA and Ansible is a plus) for monitoring, deployments, and routine DBA task automation.
β’ Solid background in ITIL-based service management, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management, KEDB and knowledge base administration, and ServiceNow.
β’ Experience with FedRAMP or equivalent federal compliance, including security controls, access audits, and preparation of audit-ready documentation.
β’ Strong process-oriented mindset with the proven ability to define best-practice frameworks, create and maintain SOPs, enforce standards, and ensure team adherence in complex operational settings.
β’ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging with both technical and executive audiences.
β’ Proven ability to build, recruit, onboard, manage, and mentor high-performing delivery teams.
β’ Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Business or IT-related field.
