This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
β’ Act as the primary responder for critical operational incidents, such as prolonged downtime, equipment failures, startup/restart issues, and crises related to defects, scrap, or throughput.
β’ Be prepared to deploy to any plant in the U.S. or Canada on short notice to evaluate conditions, stabilize operations, and implement corrective measures.
β’ Serve as the on-site technical authority during escalation events, collaborating with Plant Managers, Operations Leaders, and Maintenance Leaders.
β’ Lead root cause investigations and ensure that corrective actions are executed, verified, and maintained.
β’ Offer hands-on technical guidance across blow molding machines, bottle processing and packaging equipment, upstream/downstream assets, plant utilities, and support systems.
β’ Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and controls-related issues on the plant floor.
β’ Assist in the execution of corrective actions in collaboration with plant teams.
β’ Carry out significant PM/overhaul tasks and manage blow mold production lines in emergency situations.
β’ Enhance technical skills among operators and maintenance technicians through practical training.
β’ Aid in the development and enhancement of operator and maintenance technical training programs.
β’ Identify recurring problems and systemic deficiencies impacting safety, quality, cost, or delivery.
β’ Establish standard work practices, processes, and controls to prevent reoccurrences and sustain improvements.
β’ Uphold safety standards, personal protective equipment (PPE), and environmental regulations during intervention and recovery efforts.
β’ Ensure that emergency repairs adhere to local, state, federal, and company regulations.
β’ Collaborate with equipment vendors and technical service providers during escalations.
β’ Assist with vendor troubleshooting, parts strategy, and post-event analysis.
β’ Document root causes, corrective actions, and lessons learned from each deployment.
β’ Provides support to all manufacturing facilities across the United States and Canada.
β’ Requires travel up to 100%, often with minimal notice.
β’ Must be willing to work extended hours during critical recovery phases.
β’ Reasonable mandatory overtime may be necessary based on business requirements.
β’ 6β10 years of experience in a high-output plastics manufacturing setting, with significant exposure to bottle processing operations.
β’ 5β10 years of direct experience in maintenance and/or production technical roles.
β’ Proven expertise in troubleshooting blow molding systems and downstream bottle processing equipment.
β’ Demonstrated capability to lead effectively under pressure during unexpected operational challenges.
β’ Strong decision-making abilities, with the capacity to evaluate incomplete information in fast-paced settings.
β’ Willingness and ability to be hands-on on the plant floor.
β’ Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in manufacturing environments.
β’ A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
β’ Experience in leading multi-site or organization-wide technical initiatives is preferred.
β’ Exposure to budget and cost management is preferred.
β’ Experience in leading cross-functional operations and maintenance teams is preferred.
β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority are preferred.
