This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Establish Ameresco's Medium Voltage Operations & Maintenance Department from its inception.
• Lead a phased hiring process, expanding from an initial team of three to a 21-member department over five years.
• Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and quality management systems for medium voltage tasks.
• Internalize preventative and corrective maintenance for medium voltage systems currently outsourced to third-party contractors.
• Oversee preferred third-party MV contractors, assessing their scope of work, quality, and responsiveness.
• Act as the internal subject matter expert for medium voltage and serve as the technical escalation point.
• Review issues from subcontractors, testing reports, and deliverables, including DGA results, relay test reports, infrared scans, and cable test results.
• Advise on repair versus replacement decisions, escalation of issues, and prioritization of corrective actions.
• Supervise the scheduling, dispatch, and execution of MV preventative and corrective maintenance nationwide.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage travel logistics for the crew and optimize regional coverage.
• Own department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and maintain work records in the AssetPlanner CMMS.
• Identify, source, procure, and maintain an inventory of critical MV spare parts; update the Inventory Management System (IMS).
• Foster a safety culture by conducting quarterly reviews and unannounced PPE and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) audits.
• Design a training roadmap and oversee apprenticeship programs, skills assessments, competency evaluations, succession planning, and mentoring initiatives.
• Manage the operating budget, as well as budgets for fleet, tools, consumables, vehicles, and replacements.
• Participate in or supervise an on-call rotation for emergency corrective maintenance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Operations.
• Experience, education, certifications, skills, and location may influence actual compensation.
• Adherence to OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain current certifications, PPE compliance, and training obligations.
• Availability for on-call rotation to support 24/7 emergency corrective maintenance, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
• Capability to manage medium voltage operations across Ameresco's national Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio.
• Proficiency in developing SOPs, MOPs, JHAs, and quality management systems.
• Ability to utilize Ameresco's CMMS platform, AssetPlanner.
• Knowledge of medium voltage equipment, testing protocols, maintenance practices, and subcontractor deliverables.
