Operations Manager – Database

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Supervise and lead technical support and project teams that focus on ICT infrastructure, particularly in databases and applications.

• Provide technical and operational guidance to the team, managing support activities in mission-critical, high-availability settings.

• Oversee and monitor infrastructure services effectively.

• Execute queries using SIEM tools such as Splunk SPL, Microsoft Sentinel KQL, Elastic Search EQL, or other similar solutions.

• Direct technology projects and perform requirements analysis.

• Manage systems projects and activities related to database and application infrastructure.

• Utilize and manage infrastructure and code version control through Git, including command line usage, commits, pulls, and pushes.

• Interpret technical documentation and communicate in written English to create and follow up on support tickets with technology vendors.

• Organize, supervise, and provide operational governance for the team's activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related higher-education program, along with a postgraduate qualification in IT.

• ITIL Foundation v3 or a higher certification, or equivalent documented training.

• Proficient technical English for reading documentation and written communication to initiate and follow up on support tickets.

• Experience in Information Technology.

• Background in managing technical support teams or ICT infrastructure projects within large-scale, high-availability organizations.

• Familiarity with SQL Server, IBM DB2, WebSphere, IBM MQ, or Java EE.

• Knowledge of SIEM tools like Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic, or similar solutions.

• Understanding of infrastructure monitoring practices.

• Awareness of project management methodologies.

• Knowledge of requirements analysis techniques.

• Proficient in Git.

• Experience with Azure DevOps or Team Foundation Service as a repository is preferred.

• Preferred: simultaneous official certifications in database or application technologies, along with senior-level experience supporting these technologies.

• Preferred: significant hands-on experience utilizing Azure DevOps as the primary repository for daily technical management.
