OpenStack Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Lead a developing engineering team to enhance the quality and speed of both development and operational processes.

• Identify and assess indicators that reflect team health.

• Establish structured engineering and operational methodologies.

• Serve as the representative of the BootStack team in interactions with stakeholders, clients, and external groups.

• Ensure the team remains focused on key priorities, milestones, and deliverables.

• Strive to fulfill service level agreements for customer deployments worldwide.

• Provide consistent and timely delivery of quality managed services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a technology-related field.

• Demonstrated professional experience in software delivery using Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or similar languages, and/or in managing operations teams.

• Proven expertise with OpenStack.

• Strong dedication to testing methodologies and ensuring maintainable code quality.

• Experience in Linux system administration, particularly with Ubuntu/Debian is a plus.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Familiarity with agile software development practices.

• Experience in managing and working with distributed teams.

• Technical proficiency in understanding complex distributed systems.

• Knowledge of cloud architectures and technologies.

• Willingness to travel for team and company events, as well as customer meetings, approximately 20% or less.
