This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Collect and evaluate information relevant to the media landscape, demographic trends, and security issues across different regions.
• Source data from open channels, including regional and non-English news platforms, social media, blogs, academic publications, local contacts, and other information repositories.
• Support the design, execution, and writing of reports for various analytical projects.
• Aid in the gathering, analysis, and quality assurance of data for diverse analytical studies focused on market research.
• Highly detail-oriented with the capability to multitask and effectively prioritize time.
• 1-5 years of applicable experience.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Strong research capabilities, especially with foreign-language media and social media sources.
• Experience in open-source analysis within either an academic or professional context.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI, PDF editors, and InDesign is a plus.
• Understanding of the global media landscape.
• Knowledge of the politics, culture, and history of at least one of the designated regions.
• Solid grasp of issues in conflict-affected regions or countries.
• Experience living in, studying, or working on subjects associated with the specified regions.
• Strong skills in data management and analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of collaborating closely (virtually) with primary sources globally and maintaining strong relationships across diverse language and cultural barriers.
