This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Develop and deliver a sanctioned DeVry University syllabus that aligns with terminal course objectives.
β’ Organize, prepare, revise, and update course materials as necessary.
β’ Utilize online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions.
β’ Demonstrate effective oral and written communication to engage students and enhance learning.
β’ Establish course expectations, objectives, assignment and examination dates, along with evaluation weightings.
β’ Ensure that examinations align with the terminal objectives of the course.
β’ Prepare and grade exams consistently and fairly, offering timely feedback to students.
β’ Incorporate responsible AI technologies into classroom instruction and learning experiences.
β’ Identify, assess, and manage appropriate and inappropriate student utilization of AI tools.
β’ Facilitate student learning in compliance with DeVry University standards.
β’ Carry out additional duties as assigned.
β’ A Master's degree in a healthcare-related discipline.
β’ 18 graduate credit hours in the subject area being taught.
β’ Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be submitted with the application.
β’ Degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or an equivalent international accreditation.
β’ Experience in inpatient coding.
β’ Current industry experience within a healthcare environment.
β’ Possession of a current industry-related certification: CCS.
β’ At least five years of recent, relevant experience in inpatient coding.
β’ Proficiency in electronic health/medical records.
β’ Knowledge of IT systems and their functions within healthcare.
β’ Familiarity with health insurance and reimbursement processes.
β’ Understanding of health privacy and ethics.
β’ Knowledge of reimbursement methodologies and billing functions.
β’ Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings.
β’ Required subject matter expertise and exceptional communication skills.
β’ Commitment to continuous professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.
β’ Additional requirements may be necessary due to state licensing or accreditation considerations.
