Oncology Patient Consult Staff Pharmacist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Interpret prescriptions from physicians or prescribers.

• Reach out to doctors, prescribers, and/or patients to confirm prescription details and streamline order processing.

• Provide guidance to patients on medication usage and possible drug interactions.

• Monitor order status and address any outstanding issues.

• Handle customer inquiries regarding lost orders or dispensing mistakes.

• Uphold daily production, quality, and service standards.

• Adjust work priorities and tasks to meet business demands.

• Communicate with physicians for new or transfer authorizations.

• Partner with physicians to switch prescriptions to generic or preferred medications whenever feasible.

• Ensure the accuracy of prescription information entered by data entry or order entry personnel.

• Provide support to other pharmacists as necessary.

• Execute additional tasks assigned by management.

• Mentor and train less experienced pharmacists.


⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be residents and possess a license in AZ, FL, IN, OH, or TN.

• A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required.

• A PharmD degree is preferred.

• Must hold a current resident pharmacist license in good standing.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a pharmacy environment is necessary.

• Experience in Specialty or Oncology pharmacy is preferred.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities are essential.

• Capability to collaborate with other departments to resolve issues effectively.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting prescriptions is needed.

• A strong commitment to customer service, quality, and accuracy is crucial.

• Ability to manage deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.

• Adaptability to a dynamic work environment is essential.

• Flexibility to work a varied schedule during peak times is required.

• During the 8-week training period, availability is required Monday through Friday, 8:30 am–5 pm EST.

• Post-training, availability Monday through Friday for four days, 8:30 am–5 pm EST, plus Saturday 8:30 am–5 pm EST; with Tuesday or Wednesday as a day off.

• Must have home internet through cable broadband or fiber optic service with a minimum of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speed.
