Oncology Genetic Counselor – PRN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +21 more states.

📋 Description

• Gathers, analyzes, and interprets family and medical histories, medical records, test results, and other pertinent information.

• Organizes testing and communicates results to the patient and the referring healthcare provider.

• Formulates genetic counseling strategies, encompassing risk assessment, referrals, educational guidance, life planning alternatives, and treatment options.

• Delivers counseling and educational support to patients and their families. Identifies and facilitates referrals for testing, treatment, support, and advocacy.

• Engages in multidisciplinary tumor boards as necessary.

• Investigates, updates, and applies knowledge of current trends and advancements in genetic disease research, testing, and treatment.

• Assists with the triage and scheduling of genetic counseling referrals as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a Genetic Counselor is preferred.

• Certification as a Genetic Counselor, with renewal every 5 years, is mandatory.

• Proficiency in the English language, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking, is essential.

• A Master of Science in Genetic Counseling (or another relevant degree that qualifies for ABGC board certification) is required.
