This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +5 more states.
• Deliver therapeutic-area and product knowledge in malignant hematology and pipeline products across various medical customer segments and initiatives.
• Strategize and implement medical engagement plans for designated customers in Northern CA, OR, WA, ID, AK, and HI.
• Stay updated on malignant hematology disease states and Pfizer medications.
• Provide medical information to healthcare professionals and both internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as a resource for medical information and customer insights.
• Develop and implement aligned Field Medical tactics, contributing to the medical content strategy.
• Communicate and collaborate with medical colleagues at headquarters and other Pfizer Field Medical personnel.
• Present approved medical content regarding Pfizer medicines and malignant hematology topics.
• Identify and engage with priority customer segments.
• Address unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals with accurate, scientifically substantiated information.
• Manage inbound healthcare professional inquiries through the established triage process.
• Collaborate with Oncology Research & Development and Global Product Development to identify potential clinical trial sites, including those serving under-represented patient populations.
• Provide medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process.
• Enhance malignant hematology expertise through congress data and disease-state literature.
• Offer asset leadership and comprehend study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Lead the assigned territory and liaise with local Patient Advocacy Groups.
• Provide insights regarding patient-organization structure, capabilities, and population needs.
• Participate in Medical, therapeutic-area, and asset cross-functional committees.
• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs in clinical and professional associations and societies.
• Mentor onboarding partners, advisory-board participants, and study leads.
• Oversee projects in a remote setting and collaborate within a matrixed, multidisciplinary team.
• Embrace digital technologies and document medical interactions.
• Travel extensively for healthcare professional/customer meetings, internal meetings, and scientific congresses.
• A Bachelor's degree in a health science is required.
• PharmD/PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience, MBA/MSc with at least 7 years, or BA/BSc with a minimum of 8 years.
• Recognized subject matter expertise in malignant hematology among internal and external stakeholders.
• Currently residing in Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, or Hawaii, with a preference for major cities in Northern California, Oregon, or Washington.
• Capability to manage a significant volume of projects in a remote environment.
• Proficiency in prioritizing, implementing successfully, exercising sound judgment, and thriving in a continuous-improvement atmosphere.
• Ability to collaborate within a matrixed, multidisciplinary team.
• Competence in leading and managing change in a dynamic external healthcare context.
• Agility in adapting to new therapeutic areas, territories, projects, and organizational changes.
• Strong problem-solving and enterprise-wide networking abilities.
• Quick adoption and utilization of digital technology and resources with medical customers while recording medical interactions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to operate a Pfizer company vehicle.
• Ability to frequently travel by airplane.
• Proximity to an airline hub city.
• Willingness to travel 60–80% of the time.
• Flexibility to work weekends as necessary for advisory boards, regional meetings, and congresses.
• A PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree is highly preferred.
• Extensive expertise and/or clinical experience in malignant hematology.
• Established healthcare-professional network within the territory.
• Familiarity with internal/external SOPs, rules, and regulations regarding Pfizer/customer interactions.
• Previous experience in Field Medical roles.
• Strong clinical and technical skills.
• Diverse leadership experience, including influencing and collaborating with peers, mentoring others, and guiding colleagues’ work.
• Exceptional interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. by any employer.
