
On-Call Attorney – Veterans Disability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Receive incoming phone calls from Veterans seeking legal assistance regarding their cases.
• Promptly return outbound phone calls.
• Address client emails and other communications at the attorney level.
• Clearly and compassionately explain the VA claims and appeals processes.
• Attend to client concerns and assist in resolving issues before they escalate.
• Deliver challenging news with professionalism and empathy.
• Establish trust while setting realistic expectations.
• Accurately document client communications within the firm’s case management system.
• Refer issues that require additional legal review or operational support when necessary.
• Ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for every Veteran.
• Uphold professionalism during challenging or emotionally charged discussions.
• De-escalate situations with frustrated or upset clients.
• Collaborate with the Client Experience team and attorneys to efficiently resolve client inquiries.
• Enhance client satisfaction through proactive communication.
• Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound client communications daily.
• Be available by phone during scheduled work hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time).
• Meet productivity and quality standards while providing exceptional client service.
• Keep precise records of every client interaction.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active legal license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Outstanding verbal communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and active listening capabilities.
• Capacity to convey complex legal ideas in simple terms.
• Professional judgment and emotional intelligence.
• Ability to handle a high volume of phone calls and emails.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Preferred: Experience in Veterans Disability law or administrative law.
• Preferred: Background in a client-facing legal position.
• Preferred: Experience managing high-volume client communications.
• Preferred: Proficiency in de-escalating difficult conversations.
• Preferred: Military service or familiarity with military culture.
