This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the grantmaking process by identifying, tracking, and addressing issues or tailored expectations (including specific grant letters/agreements, text, and acknowledgements) to ensure compliance with IRS regulations and timely execution of all grantmaking activities.
• Manage and implement the daily grantmaking operations, ensuring all recommendations are processed accurately, in compliance, and punctually, with alignment to director-level oversight.
• Review and approve all grant recommendation entries within the DAF system, confirming the necessary documentation and current eligibility of grantees.
• Update payment details for grantees upon request for electronic payments.
• Prepare and submit grant approvals for director-level review as necessary.
• Review and finalize all grant letters, ensuring precision and that any tailored expectations are incorporated.
• Act as the initial escalation point for complex or non-standard grant recommendations, using sound judgment to triage issues within established risk tolerance and escalating to the Director or operations leadership as needed.
• Serve as the primary contact and functional resource for grant payment issuance and reporting, escalating issues beyond established parameters to operations leadership as appropriate.
• Provide daily oversight, guidance, and coaching for grants team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related discipline; a minimum of 8 years of experience in operations, financial services, investment management, or nonprofit administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience managing a team.
• Experience with donor-advised funds and grantmaking best practices is highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of DAF grantmaking processes, due diligence requirements, and compliance standards both domestically and internationally.
• Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail; capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an investigative mindset, willing to delve deeper rather than accept information at face value.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with donors, advisors, and external partners.
• Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Ability to adjust to varying work volumes, including periods of high activity.
• Strong sense of accountability and personal integrity; maintains confidentiality and acts in the organization's best interests.
