Occupational Therapist Registered, OTR

📋 Description

• Perform thorough assessments of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional capabilities

• Create personalized treatment plans and objectives in partnership with students, parents, and educational staff

• Execute evidence-based occupational therapy practices to meet students' unique needs and foster skill enhancement

• Track and record students' advancement towards their goals, modifying intervention strategies as necessary

• Offer guidance and assistance to educators and other school personnel on methods that enhance students' engagement and success in the classroom

• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to address students' academic and functional requirements

• Engage in IEP meetings and provide input for students' educational strategies

• Keep precise and timely records of therapy sessions, progress updates, and mandatory documentation

• Deliver occupational therapy services to K-12 students in a virtual environment

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline

• Must possess a valid state license as an Occupational Therapist in your residing and practicing state

• Must be registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

• Enthusiastic about working with K-12 students in a virtual format

• Experience in providing occupational therapy services within school or pediatric contexts

• Skilled in assessment tools and therapeutic methods commonly utilized in pediatric occupational therapy

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Proficient in computer applications, including email and Microsoft Teams

• Experience in delivering teletherapy services

• Familiarity with sensory integration therapy, Handwriting Without Tears, and other therapeutic approaches (preferred)

• Capability to sit for extended durations and utilize a computer keyboard and mouse

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds
