Occupational Therapist Registered, OTR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Deliver occupational therapy services to PreK-12 students in educational settings.

• Perform thorough evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional capabilities.

• Create personalized treatment plans and objectives in collaboration with students, parents, and school personnel.

• Execute evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.

• Track and document student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary.

• Advise teachers and school staff on methods to enhance classroom participation and success.

• Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to address students' academic and functional requirements.

• Engage in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.

• Ensure the maintenance of accurate and timely documentation for therapy sessions, progress reports, and necessary paperwork.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline.

• Must possess a valid state license as an Occupational Therapist in the state where you reside and practice.

• Must be registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

• Enthusiastic about providing services to K-12 students in a virtual environment.

• Experience delivering occupational therapy services within a school or pediatric context.

• Proficient in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques typically utilized in pediatric occupational therapy.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, parents, and school staff.

• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Competency in computer applications, including email and Microsoft Teams.

• Experience with teletherapy.

• Familiarity with sensory integration therapy, Handwriting Without Tears, and other therapeutic methods (preferred).

• Capability to sit for extended durations and operate a computer keyboard and mouse.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Occasionally able to stand, walk, reach, and lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
