Occupational Math Tutor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Utilize proprietary tools to label and assess data.

• Assist in delivering meticulously curated high-quality data.

• Collaborate with engineers to enhance tasks, tools, and workflows.

• Create, select, and refine tasks based on practical occupational mathematics, including:

• Offer comprehensive, step-by-step solutions and assess model responses for accuracy, compliance with domain regulations (e.g., tax codes, building codes, fundamental regulatory or business constraints), clarity, and feasibility.

• Interpret, analyze, and carry out tasks according to provided instructions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a closely related field with solid training in applied or occupational mathematics;

• A Bachelor's degree in one of the aforementioned fields, accompanied by significant professional experience (e.g., 2+ years) in a math-intensive occupational area such as finance, banking, insurance, accounting, logistics/supply chain, healthcare analytics, or policy analysis.

• Professional licensure or certification in a skilled trade (e.g., licensed surveyor, master electrician, journeyman machinist) demonstrating expertise in trade-specific mathematical computations.

• Strong competence in applied mathematics pertinent to at least one of the specified domains (e.g., probability and statistics, financial mathematics, optimization under constraints, geometric and measurement calculations, or similar).

• Proficient in both informal and professional English reading and writing.

• Exceptional ability to navigate diverse information resources and databases.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Strong reading comprehension abilities coupled with the capability to exercise independent judgment even with limited data/material.
