Nyanja-English OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malawi.

📋 Description

• Professionally handle incoming calls, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Maintain readiness to take notes during calls at all times.

• Understand the specialized vocabulary relevant to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and thoroughly convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Enable effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretations.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional development training.

• Show enthusiasm in pursuing new professional certifications.

• Regularly communicate and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code guidelines for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Nyanja".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephonic interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
