Nuclear Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist clients located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and provide support remotely.

• Conduct criticality safety analysis utilizing MCNP, SCALE, KENO, or comparable computational tools.

• Design, assess, and review systems and processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Execute safety evaluations and risk assessments concerning fuel fabrication, enrichment, transportation, and storage.

• Support government initiatives, national laboratories, national security facilities, nuclear operations, and intricate projects.

• Deliver engineering and technical services in strategic planning, program management, and project execution.

• Operate in complex, secure, and highly regulated environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with 5-10 years of direct experience required; or an MS with 3-7 years of experience.

• Must pass a successful drug screening.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance badge is required.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• Proficient in criticality safety codes and software tools such as MCNP, SCALE, KENO, or similar computational tools.

• Practical experience with criticality safety assessments is essential.

• Experience in conducting safety evaluations and risk assessments related to nuclear processes is required.

• Preferred: knowledge of nuclear fuel cycle operations, including enrichment, reprocessing, or fuel fabrication.

• Preferred: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering or a related field, particularly with a concentration in reactor physics, neutron transport, or criticality safety.
