This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Utilize scripting and automation tools to enhance processes and decrease time spent on issues.
• Design and execute automation solutions to lower failure rates and lessen the necessary engineer involvement for ticket resolution.
• Develop tools that empower engineers to address issues more swiftly and effectively.
• Establish self-service solutions for clients to manage common issues independently.
• Create proformas for each automation project to determine potential savings in hours or dollars, the time needed to complete the tasks, and the anticipated return on investment (ROI).
• Maintain and secure a repository for scripts.
• Generate reports to demonstrate ongoing progress on automation projects.
• Write tailored reports for the NOC and Service Desk utilizing tools such as Power BI and BrightGauge.
• Automate Windows, third-party, and Mac patching through tools like Kaseya VSA, Addigy, and Intune.
• Manage and update the RMM platform, Kaseya, along with the analytics platform, BrightGauge.
• Provide automated updates regarding patch status and endpoint compliance.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions with current systems and processes.
• Keep documentation of automation scripts, tools, and procedures up to date.
• Offer technical support and advice to clients and team members concerning automation solutions and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing automation solutions using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or equivalent.
• Strong grasp of automation principles and tools.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to automation.
• Experience in creating and maintaining performance baselines for servers and network devices.
• Basic knowledge of networking principles.
• Intermediate experience with virtualization technologies and storage hardware.
• Basic exposure to Azure and AWS cloud environments.
• Intermediate understanding of Azure compute, networking, and storage.
• Some scripting knowledge is preferred.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar are advantageous.
