This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Continuously monitor the performance of networks and systems utilizing various monitoring tools and software during the overnight shift.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate network and system problems; serve as an escalation point for Analyst I team members.
• Execute configurations and deployments of system and network devices in collaboration with Backup Specialists and Toolset Orchestration Specialists.
• Promptly monitor and respond to alerts and notifications from network and system monitoring platforms.
• Maintain precise and current documentation of network and system configurations, incidents, and modifications.
• Ensure that all tickets are accurately created, documented, and updated to reflect the time and actions taken.
• Deliver timely and clear communication regarding network and system issues to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Effectively manage personal workload to ensure consistent adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents and implement solutions.
• Mentor and train NOC Analyst I on best practices in network and system monitoring.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to after-hours incidents as necessary.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in network and system monitoring, NOC operations, or a related field.
• An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• In-depth knowledge of networking concepts such as load balancing, VPN, and firewall management.
• Strong understanding of server and operating system principles, including both Windows and Linux environments.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a systematic troubleshooting approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective updates to stakeholders.
• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented NOC environment.
• Keen attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Mandatory Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) clearance post-employment.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts, with required availability on Saturdays and Sundays.
• **NICE TO HAVE**
• Experience with ConnectWise (ticketing), Kaseya VSA, OpenDNS, and/or PRTG monitoring platforms.
• Previous experience supporting IT environments in government, municipal, or public sector settings.
• Familiarity with MSP service delivery models and management of multi-client infrastructures.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent.
• Previous experience mentoring or leading junior NOC analysts.
