📋 Description

• Collaborate across Aerospace to create solutions that facilitate enterprise mission success, ensuring technical, operational, and people excellence with a focus on effectively delivering space capabilities to warfighters to swiftly and agilely address critical operational mission gaps.

• Execute and lead technical or analytical tasks, which include hands-on development, formulating roadmaps and strategies to bridge technical gaps by integrating commercial and traditional space capabilities, evaluating commercial offerings, and devising plans to expedite the delivery of capabilities to warfighters while managing competing priorities and navigating policy, political, budget, and cost constraints.

• Provide guidance to senior customers and stakeholders on effective planning and risk management to support the timely deployment of integrated space capabilities that meet operational requirements.

• Collaborate across organizational boundaries and interact with senior Program Office personnel, customers, stakeholders, associate contractors, and corporate management.

• Establish, foster, and sustain relationships with program offices throughout Aerospace and with external stakeholders.

• Actively participate in and contribute to the professional community of interest by leading and organizing events such as conferences, seminars, and industry forums across the enterprise to foster partnerships and shape emerging NGSO capabilities in the commercial sector to achieve warfighter outcomes.

• Serve as a mentor, providing technical advice and guidance to junior staff and customers.

• Lead and facilitate educational workshops, information-sharing sessions, and training programs aimed at promoting knowledge exchange.

• Create and uphold a knowledge base, document lessons learned, and cultivate trusted relationships to advance the NGSO enterprise within the stakeholder community.

• Collaborate with subdivision leaders to achieve subdivision objectives and facilitate capability development.


⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, business, finance, or a related technical or analytical field; or a master’s degree in engineering with some exposure to business, market research, finance, or investment banking.

• At least 12 years of pertinent experience in space-related acquisition or analysis.

• Prior experience leading distributed, highly technical project teams.

• Proven history of establishing and maintaining effective interpersonal and working relationships with various levels of corporate staff, peers, management, program offices, customers, partners, stakeholders, and contractors.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• In-depth understanding of Department of War priorities, missions, operational space-based needs, and acquisition processes.

• A commitment to fostering a respectful environment that promotes excellence, mission commitment, collaboration, and opportunity.

• Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated experience in systems acquisition, systems engineering, systems integration, commercial space markets, and investment analysis.

• A proven ability to build partnerships, model collaboration across organizations, and facilitate effective exchanges with a diverse range of stakeholders to influence and drive critical decisions.

• A demonstrated appreciation for the FFRDC mission and its role.

• A systems-thinking mindset and proven experience in forming and leading high-performing teams.

• Capability to lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment during significant change while establishing a clear technical vision for the team.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.

• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is necessary to obtain a security clearance.
