Network Security Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development of curriculum, ensuring that the content aligns with real-world network attack patterns encountered in operational contexts.

• Collaborate in creating practical lab environments and Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges that mirror realistic adversary behaviors rather than theoretical scenarios.

• Co-facilitate and lead training sessions both virtually and in person for audiences with technical expertise.

• Design and develop recorded, on-demand educational materials.

• Manage and enhance Learning Management Systems, with experience in Skilljar being advantageous.

• Instruct students on the application of Corelight for tasks such as threat hunting, incident response, and detection engineering.

• Utilize AWS and scripting to support the maintenance and enhancement of lab infrastructure and provisioning workflows.

• Anticipate up to 50% travel as part of the role.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a SOC Tier II role, focusing on Incident Response or threat hunting.

• 1 to 2 years of experience in mentorship, internal training, content creation, or sharing knowledge within a security framework.

• Proficient understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework as applied to real investigations, beyond mere reference.

• Significant experience with Zeek logs, enabling you to track an attack through the data and articulate your observations.

• Familiarity with Suricata or Snort, including the creation of rules.

• Experience with at least one SIEM platform, such as Splunk, Elastic, or Sentinel.

• Strong fundamentals in TCP/IP and comfort in analyzing packet captures.

• Experience in administering Windows, MacOS, Linux, or Unix systems.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Zeek-script, or PowerShell.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience.

• Previous experience in a startup environment is preferred.
