Network Ops – Observability Architect

Posted May 20

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Define and document the target-state observability architecture for "Greenfield," which encompasses technical configuration templates, dashboard designs, and telemetry polling logic for the unified monitoring platform chosen by the client.

• Architect alert thresholds, suppression rules, and dependency mapping to reduce false positives and avoid alert fatigue within the Network Operations Center (NOC).

• Create provisioning templates and API integrations to guarantee that all sites transitioning from the migration factory are automatically integrated into the target monitoring platform without the need for manual intervention.

• Work alongside the ITSM/ITIL Architect during the design phase to formulate automated alert-to-ticket routing logic, and collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager during implementation to ensure that NOC runbooks are consistent with the new telemetry model.

• Participate in architecture governance, which includes engaging in architecture reviews, design approvals, and the development of enterprise architecture standards, principles, and reference models. Collaborate with cross-domain architects (security, application, platform) on integrated design decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Network Operations, Observability Architecture, or NMS Engineering within large-scale enterprise or service provider environments.

• Practical experience in delivering scalable monitoring templates and frameworks.

• Extensive expertise in modern unified observability platforms such as LogicMonitor, Datadog, SolarWinds, or Splunk, including network telemetry mapping.

• Advanced understanding of alert correlation, SNMPv3, NetFlow, and API-based data extraction.

• Demonstrated ability to design effective alert suppression logic that shields Tier 1 NOC teams from redundant or cascading alerts during intricate network events.
