This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee Data Dog dashboards and network monitoring systems, analyze alerts, and identify root causes.
• Assess network health, performance metrics, and capacity trends to pinpoint and address degradations.
• Develop and enhance Data Dog dashboards, alerts, and monitoring systems.
• Troubleshoot and rectify network problems involving firewalls, wireless connectivity, and circuit outages using CLI, vendor controllers, and monitoring data.
• Manage ServiceNow incidents and requests from start to finish, ensuring detailed technical documentation.
• Engage in P1/P0 major-incident conference calls and implement diagnostic and remediation procedures.
• Elevate issues to vendors, carriers, or senior engineers, coordinating communication until resolution.
• Diagnose and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls with Strata.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for the Ruckus R1 wireless environment.
• Address issues with switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless controllers from multiple vendors.
• Ensure high-performance pipelines for large-scale data ingress and egress.
• Offer network support in critical facilities, considering constraints related to power, cooling, and structured cabling.
• Monitor and stabilize newly implemented infrastructure during hypercare and site/network acceptance phases.
• Execute Method of Procedures (MOPs) for the installation, staging, and upgrading of firewalls, core switches, wireless access points, and UPS systems.
• Submit and implement ServiceNow changes while documenting processes and outcomes.
• Utilize and enhance runbooks, configuration baselines, and troubleshooting guides.
• Minimum of 4 years of practical network engineering or NOC engineering experience in a high-availability enterprise setting.
• Extensive hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting network devices from multiple vendors using CLI and cloud-managed controllers.
• Proficiency in working with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Competence with Data Dog or a similar network/infrastructure monitoring and alerting platform.
• Experience in building dashboards, fine-tuning alerts, and leveraging telemetry for troubleshooting purposes.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or an equivalent ITSM platform for managing tickets, changes, and problems.
• Capability to independently diagnose and resolve intricate network issues under time constraints.
• Strong written communication skills for documenting ticket notes, incident updates, and shift transitions.
• Familiarity with scripting or automation tools such as Python or Ansible is preferred.
• Working knowledge of BGP peering, OSPF, EVPN-VXLAN, and stateful firewall policies is preferred.
• Experience in data center, fleet, mission-critical, autonomous, or high-technology environments is preferred.
• Background as an embedded contractor or through an MSP relationship is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
• Certifications like PCNSA/PCNSE, CCNA/CCNP, CWNA, or ITIL Foundation are highly advantageous.
