Network Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and implement server clusters.

• Diagnose hardware issues remotely and assist with server repairs.

• Oversee Akamai's hardware inventory.

• Lead a team of field technicians while collaborating closely with external partners.

• Ensure outstanding service delivery in conjunction with internal cross-functional teams.

• Monitor and react to alarms from servers, routers, switches, and operating systems within established SLAs.

• Troubleshoot network hardware and manage infrastructure assets to maintain platform stability.

• Identify and resolve issues related to switches, routers, and network infrastructure.

• Aid in the resolution of high-severity technical incidents and operational escalations.

• Collaborate with field technicians, data centers, and partners for the installation and maintenance of infrastructure.

• Design, create, and sustain monitoring alerts, runbooks, and operational documentation.

• Install, configure, optimize, and automate network infrastructure utilizing operational tools and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree and possess at least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role or domain.

• Have experience with network technologies and a foundational understanding of networking.

• Familiarity with data center portals is required.

• Demonstrate proficiency in network technologies and OSI layer 2, along with a solid understanding of OSI layers 3, 4, and 7 (HTTP/HTTPS/DNS).

• Basic knowledge of bash/perl/python scripting in a Linux/Unix environment and SQL is essential.
