Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and provide support for enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and cloud networking solutions.

• Develop and uphold network architecture standards, diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Assess and recommend network technologies, hardware, and software solutions.

• Lead initiatives for network upgrades, migrations, and modernization.

• Deliver Tier 2/3 support for complex network incidents and outages.

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective measures for recurring issues.

• Ensure network availability, performance, and reliability through proactive monitoring and maintenance.

• Engage in on-call support and incident response activities as necessary.

• Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, NAC, segmentation, and secure remote access.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to identify and address vulnerabilities.

• Support compliance, audit, and risk management needs.

• Uphold network security standards and best practices.

• Design and support connectivity to Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI.

• Integrate network services with enterprise infrastructure platforms.

• Support hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud networking architectures.

• Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions where suitable.

• Lead the technical aspects of network-related projects from planning to implementation.

• Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.

• Develop project plans, implementation procedures, and testing strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in enterprise network engineering.

• Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, wireless networking, and network security technologies.

• Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, or similar enterprise platforms.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Experience in supporting large-scale and mission-critical environments.

• Preferred: Cisco CCNP or equivalent certification.

• Preferred: Experience in cloud networking.

• Preferred: Familiarity with SD-WAN and network automation technologies.

• Preferred: Knowledge of scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible.

• Preferred: Industry certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or AWS Advanced Networking Specialty.

• Knowledge of BGP, MPLS, and routing protocols.

• Knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 switching technologies.

• Knowledge of wireless networking and controller-based architectures.

• Knowledge of VPN, Firewall, IDS/IPS, and Zero Trust technologies.

• Knowledge of SD-WAN and Internet connectivity solutions.

• Knowledge of cloud-native and hybrid-cloud networking.

• Knowledge of network monitoring and performance management tools.

• Knowledge of automation and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
