This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver day-to-day high-level engineering support for Ferguson’s network infrastructure across roughly 1,400 locations.

• Design and oversee WAN/LAN, WLAN, VPN, and network infrastructure.

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, NOC, SOC, incident responders, infrastructure, and development teams.

• Troubleshoot network infrastructure and address escalated major incidents.

• Research and suggest technologies to adapt to evolving business requirements.

• Enhance infrastructure uptime, performance, reliability, scalability, and user experience.

• Establish and enforce network infrastructure standards and policies.

• Create and maintain network design and change documentation.

• Configure, troubleshoot, and scale F5-based load-balancing platforms.

• Design network configurations, including DHCP, VPN, SD-WAN, and VLAN adjustments.

• Modify configurations for core and edge routers and switches.

• Coordinate the installation, repair, and maintenance of network hardware.

• Maintain hardware and software inventory to ensure compliance and effective asset management.

• Document new system implementations and changes to existing systems.

• Own the planning, development, and execution of disaster recovery for network infrastructure.

• Ensure adherence to IT security and governance processes, including change control, SOX, and PCI compliance.

• Implement technical and service enhancements.

• Manage technology registrations, licensing, certificates, agreements, and contracts.

• Ensure networks, applications, circuits, hardware, and software remain operational, patched, and updated.

• Assess new network technologies for improved business efficiency.

• Perform additional tasks as requested by management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Center, SDWAN, Cloud, Wireless, Load-Balancer, Routing, Firewall, or Monitoring technologies.

• Associate’s degree in computer science, information assurance, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Technical foundation in Network Engineering.

• Experience with Cisco Nexus/Catalyst, Meraki, Palo, and SD-WAN technologies, including Versa, Cisco, or Silverpeak.

• General knowledge of Information Security.

• Preferred 7+ years of IT experience in technology design, implementation, and delivery.

• Experience in network engineering, including large-scale design, hosted and cloud datacenters, and local LAN technologies.

• Familiarity with Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls.

• Strong understanding of network protocols.

• Knowledge of wireless security, privacy practices, and compliance with SOX and PCI.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

• Technical certifications are preferred; CCIE, CCNP, or CISSP are desirable.

• Skills in project coordination.

• Capability to organize, prioritize, and document tasks with minimal supervision.

• Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.

• Ability to lead, mentor, and empower team members.

• Competence to establish operational plans and implement strategic objectives.

• Skills to develop and implement effective processes and procedures.

• Ability to independently complete work that requires judgment and discretion.

• Skill in solving complex problems without predefined procedures.

• Innovative mindset with the ability to assess multifunctional impacts.

• Highly proficient in written, oral, instructional, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Ability to communicate and present effectively to senior and executive leadership.

• Capability to develop high-level project plans with tasks and timelines.
