This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Establish and uphold application architecture standards, principles, and best practices throughout the integration and API engineering organization.
• Create scalable, secure, and highly available API ecosystems and integration solutions.
• Conduct architecture reviews and offer technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Set standards for API design, security, observability, documentation, and lifecycle management.
• Lead integration strategies for internal applications, ERP systems, SaaS platforms, enterprise systems, and external partners.
• Organize domain discovery and event storming workshops with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Design and execute event-driven and message-based architectures utilizing Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, and related technologies.
• Promote the adoption of AI-driven engineering practices while identifying opportunities to enhance business value, operational efficiency, and developer productivity.
• Encourage engineering excellence through Test-Driven Development (TDD), Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and automated quality practices.
• Spearhead modernization initiatives and efforts to reduce technical debt.
• Create cloud-native solutions that leverage Microsoft Azure and modern platform services.
• Define strategies for scalability, resiliency, disaster recovery, observability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with platform teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and developer experience.
• Mentor architects, technical leads, and engineering teams while nurturing a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Act as a trusted advisor for strategic technology investments and modernization efforts.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 10 years of experience in Software Engineering.
• More than 5 years of experience in Architecture, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or Technical Leadership roles.
• Proven track record in designing enterprise-scale integration platforms and distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in modern .NET patterns, asynchronous pipelines, and enterprise-scale codebases.
• Proficient in API Architecture and Enterprise Integrations.
• Knowledgeable in Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Experienced in Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
• Familiar with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Skilled in Microservices and Distributed Systems.
• Well-versed in Cloud-Native Architecture.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI Specifications, OAuth2, OIDC, API Security, and Identity Management.
• Experienced in implementing observability practices, including monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, and telemetry.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL, Application Insights, and Azure AI Services.
• Knowledgeable in CQRS, Event Sourcing, Saga Patterns, and Distributed Transaction Management.
• Familiar with OpenTelemetry and enterprise observability platforms.
• Proven ability to identify and drive AI adoption within engineering teams, including AI-assisted development (Copilot, code generation), LLM integration into products, and responsible AI governance.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring capabilities, with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability for architectural decisions, proactively managing risks, eliminating blockers, and driving outcomes with a high level of autonomy.
