This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belize.
• Evaluate the educational materials produced by the Curriculum Development Firm (Anthesis Consulting Group Limited) for NCAEP.
• Offer technical insights and expert advice on the creation and execution of the curriculum focused on Climate Governance's priority thematic areas.
• Conduct lectures based on the sanctioned curriculum for the Governance Module/Micro-credentials course within the designated timeframe.
• Act as a member of the NCAEP Independent Expert Group, offering expert advice on climate governance and sharing up-to-date knowledge on climate change, adaptation strategies, sustainable development, and related policy frameworks.
• Assist the Independent Expert Group in its advisory and knowledge-sharing functions.
• Lead engaging learning sessions that include case studies and hands-on exercises.
• Keep precise records of attendance and participation to aid the Program Coordinator in strategies for learner retention and minimizing dropout risks.
• Manage, evaluate, and grade participant assignments, quizzes, and final projects according to the approved assessment criteria.
• Provide prompt, constructive, and actionable feedback to participants.
• Compile and submit a detailed course completion report that encompasses participant performance and assessment results, attendance and engagement statistics, overall class dynamics, group evaluations, and suggestions for enhancing future iterations of the program.
• Collaborate with Cohort 1 Pilot stakeholders as necessary to ensure effective program delivery and partner engagement.
• Hold an advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Environmental Policy, Climate Governance, Public Administration, Environmental Law, or a closely related field.
• Professional certification in pedagogy will be regarded as an advantage.
• At least five (5) years of professional experience in climate policy, environmental governance, or institutional frameworks/capacity building, particularly concerning UNFCCC, IFC Performance Standards, multilateral climate funds (e.g., GCF, GEF, Adaptation Fund) and their operational frameworks, including gender and Indigenous Peoples policies.
• Knowledge of the Belizean or broader Caribbean socio-political and climate governance landscape is highly preferred.
• Capability to adopt and implement a pre-existing curriculum, simplifying complex financial and technical concepts into comprehensible, actionable knowledge for a variety of stakeholders.
• Expertise in adult-learning facilitation methodologies, including guiding case study discussions and practical workshops.
• Comprehensive understanding of national and international climate governance frameworks, GCF policies (specifically the Environmental and Social Policy, Gender Policy, and Indigenous Peoples Policy), and the roles of National Designated Authority and Direct Access Entities.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching, training, or leading high-level capacity-building initiatives for professionals, government officials, or graduate students.
