This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• We are looking for a Naval Architecture and Marine Engineer to investigate and address maintenance-related technical feedback report submissions, as well as engage in various special projects for the Military Sealift Command (MSC).
• Operates independently with general oversight.
• Challenges encountered are difficult but generally not complex.
• May influence technical staff by clarifying facts, policies, and practices.
• Strives to meet operational targets that significantly affect departmental outcomes.
• Implements and executes technical initiatives and solutions.
• Accountable for making adjustments or suggesting improvements in systems and processes to resolve issues or enhance job area effectiveness.
• Addresses somewhat intricate technical issues/problems that necessitate a comprehensive understanding of various technical job knowledge areas.
• Communicates with contacts typically within the project area or technical department regarding matters that involve obtaining or supplying information that requires some explanation or interpretation to reach consensus.
• May offer guidance and support to entry-level professionals and/or support staff.
• Must be a US Citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOD Confidential clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a naval architecture program.
• Familiarity with Navy and MSC maintenance and logistics programs.
• Four years of post-graduate experience in marine, power, or manufacturing plant technical roles.
• Knowledgeable about commercial ship operations, maintenance concepts, programs, and procedures.
• Completion of NAVSEA Level I Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Training or an equivalent program covering the requirements of MIL-P-24534A.
• If lacking a degree, the individual must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities (years of experience can overlap): Eight years of equivalent technical experience in Naval Architecture, Marine, or other Naval Engineering fields.
