This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Guide the Surface Transportation organization through its upcoming growth phase, digital transformation, and operational excellence.
• Take ownership of performance related to the Annual Operating Plan, encompassing revenue, profitability, backlog health, utilization, and management of indirect expenses.
• Establish a clear operating rhythm, accountability, and leadership visibility throughout the department.
• Collaborate closely with the Market Director and Market Leaders to prioritize initiatives, enhance positioning, and strategically grow backlog.
• Convert enterprise and sector strategies into defined priorities and actionable plans for delivery teams.
• Act as a prominent leader both internally and externally with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Ensure the consistent and high-quality delivery of services that align with client expectations and bolster Ulteig’s reputation in Surface Transportation.
• Provide executive oversight on project execution, risk management, quality control, and client satisfaction.
• Ensure that managers effectively supervise engineering, technical, and construction activities throughout all work phases.
• Promote the consistent application of tools, processes, and performance data to manage delivery predictably.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering or related fields.
• Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience leading managers and teams.
• Proven capability in managing operating plans, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Strong understanding of Surface Transportation markets, clients, and delivery frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through complexity, uncertainty, and change.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect strategy to execution effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster trust and alignment among diverse stakeholders; comfortable presenting to a range of audiences, from graduate engineers to the Board of Directors.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
• Demonstrates a willingness to innovate by embracing and applying evolving technologies and AI tools to improve workflows, solve challenges, and promote continuous enhancement.
