This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• We are looking for a National Director of Field Medical who will be responsible for establishing, leading, and enhancing Immunic’s Multiple Sclerosis field medical organization.
• You will define the vision, culture, and operational framework for the MS Field Medical team, acting as a vital strategic partner to Medical Affairs leadership and a senior liaison with the external MS clinical community.
• Develop and implement the national field medical strategy for multiple sclerosis, ensuring alignment with Immunic’s Medical Affairs and therapeutic area goals.
• Build, lead, and nurture a high-performing team of MSLs and RMSLs, which includes recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
• Set operating standards, best practices, and field resources for scientific exchange and compliant collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Work closely with the VP of Medical Affairs and Medical Directors on scientific positioning and data communication priorities.
• Engage with neurologists and neuroimmunologists in constructive scientific discussions regarding multiple sclerosis and innovative therapeutic strategies.
• Act as the primary Field Medical leader within Medical Affairs, collaborating closely with Medical Directors and other Medical Affairs colleagues to ensure strategic and execution alignment.
• An advanced scientific or clinical degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, NP/PA with a strong research background) is required; specialization or substantial experience in neurology, neuroimmunology, or multiple sclerosis is highly preferred.
• Over 10 years of relevant Medical Affairs, clinical, or scientific experience, including significant field medical experience and previous leadership of MSL or Medical Affairs teams.
• Proven expertise in the biology of multiple sclerosis, the therapeutic landscape, and evolving standards of care.
• Experience in a startup, nonprofit, or newly established program environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing scientific teams, preferably in a growth-stage, startup, or newly established program setting.
• Experience engaging with MS thought leaders, academic institutions, and clinical researchers, with a well-established network within the MS and/or neuroimmunology community preferred.
• Familiarity with clinical trial design, evidence generation methods, and scientific communication within the context of MS or related neurological diseases.
• Strong strategic, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across various functions and levels.
