• Enhance Tilt Collective’s US strategy by pinpointing the most vital levers of change, identifying the most effective methods for Tilt to focus on, and outlining the necessary ecosystem to achieve these goals.
• Clearly and succinctly communicate Tilt Collective’s US strategy, ensuring it is easily understood by donors and other stakeholders.
• Proactively engage with various sectors within the food systems field, drawing insights from environmental, health, consumer, farmer, and other relevant constituencies to formulate a robust strategy.
• Collaborate with Tilt Collective's leadership, regional leads, and thematic program leads to identify cross-learning opportunities and synergies across different markets.
• Define a variety of potential US grantees and initiatives across diverse fields such as health, economy, food security, climate, animal advocacy, and water.
• Oversee the process of obtaining grant approvals, which includes collaborating with our Leadership Team and Grants function to ensure grant proposals fulfill organizational standards.
• Offer continuous support and strategic advice to grantees throughout the grant execution phase.
• Establish and ensure the implementation of directed networks, creating coordination mechanisms to align grantee efforts towards shared objectives.
• Identify deficiencies in the ecosystem and pursue solutions, potentially through grantmaking.
• Collaborate with philanthropic and grant-making organizations to bolster fundraising efforts, in alignment with our fundraising team.
• Elevate the visibility of our US program and Tilt Collective as a key delivery partner among donors.
• Significant and verifiable professional experience in climate and health, particularly in relation to food systems.
• Background in government, private sector, civil society, or philanthropic contexts, with a preference for relevant experience in philanthropy, advocacy, and/or civil society.
• Proven experience in formulating high-level strategies and translating them into actionable plans, with a strong emphasis on impact.
• Excellent networking and interpersonal abilities to forge connections with partners and grantees.
• Experience engaging with donors, ideally within a philanthropic environment.
• Strong civil society, donor, and business stakeholder network within a relevant national context, along with a solid reputation in the field.
• Capacity to work across various disciplines or areas related to food system transition, including environment, health, farming, animal rights, social development, food security, and consumer issues.
• Flexible and capable of functioning effectively within a dynamic and evolving landscape.
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive and collaborative working culture.
• Ability to operate within a virtual, remote team, as well as in-person when necessary.
• Experience in budget management.
