This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Electrical Associate Director plays a vital leadership role within DLB’s Design Department.
• This role is responsible for the systems that drive the department’s growth: staffing and capacity planning, partner/outsourcing management (both onshore and offshore), and talent onboarding and development.
• The Director bridges the gaps between recruiting, project/program staffing, and Day 1 productivity while proactively developing policies, dashboards, and playbooks that facilitate scalability.
• Direct and lead Electrical Design Activities and Technical Development (≤50%).
• Independently perform and/or oversee advanced Electrical engineering design and calculations.
• Conduct QAQC peer reviews for various projects and programs.
• Serve as the department-level Engineer of Record (EoR) for assigned projects.
• Mentor members of the Electrical design team, aiding in their training and professional development.
• Supervise the development of organizational training and standards for the Electrical team.
• Lead strategic planning initiatives for the Electrical engineering team.
• Oversee the hiring processes for the Electrical engineering team.
• Ensure efficient resource allocation and utilization, including managing budgets.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to support strategic planning.
• B.A. / B.S. degree in relevant fields such as Operations, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of fifteen years of experience in a related field.
• Understanding of organizational objectives and their relation to company policies.
• Familiarity with budgeting and financial management principles.
• Proficient in utilizing data visualization tools and techniques to present complex information in an easily digestible format for stakeholders and senior management.
• Strong leadership abilities to inspire subordinates and ensure optimal performance.
• Excellent tactical decision-making skills to address unforeseen issues that may arise during operations.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with senior management, subordinates, and other stakeholders.
• Capability to establish operational objectives and work plans, delegating assignments effectively.
• Proficient in producing drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Experienced in using the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), with exceptional organizational skills for file management.
• Skilled in performing and analyzing Electrical calculations, topologies, and Code requirements.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to complete assignments accurately.
• Competent in working successfully in a remote environment through effective communication, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace.
• Adherence to company and site safety requirements.
• Proficient in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Capable of communicating effectively in both oral and written forms (technical and non-technical information).
• Able to interact directly with clients and occasionally serve as the primary point of contact.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective in planning and delegating the work of others.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
