National Commercial Underwriting Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Manage substantial quantities of files and time-sensitive materials related to transaction matters.

• Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within authorized limits to underwrite title insurance issuance.

• Offer guidance in executing real estate settlement services.

• Provide underwriting assistance, advice, and authorization to company staff, agents, and clients regarding the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.

• Establish underwriting standards and guidelines in alignment with the company's established procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to cultivate, develop, and sustain professional and cooperative working relationships.

• Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex legal documents.

• Ability to apply logic or legal principles to a diverse range of complex issues.

• Familiarity with the title insurance industry, including its products, policies, and endorsements.

• Juris Doctor; current and active member of a State Bar.

• Over 10 years of experience as a Commercial Underwriting Counsel.

• Knowledge of commercial insurance coverage and real estate terminology.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.

• Acute attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Proficient in various computer software systems, including Microsoft Office.

• Eagerness and capability to learn and utilize new software systems.
