This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate as part of a motivated and dynamic sales team to advance the organization's sales objectives.
• Act as the primary point of contact for technical and business inquiries concerning assigned or potential customers.
• Consistently engage with customers whose brands align with our capabilities and strategic capacity.
• Create a ‘hit list’ of innovative products that fulfill customer needs.
• Foster synergies that capture vital data for sharing with the wider retail sales team.
• Coordinate with all relevant internal departments to navigate the onboarding process for new products or expanded categories.
• Confirm the effective execution of supply chain processes by liaising with external customers and the internal supply chain team.
• Ensure appropriate strategies for planning and managing inventories of raw materials and finished goods.
• Partner with the Demand Planning and CPFR teams on forecast validation to meet internal requirements and collaborate with customer replenishment teams as necessary.
• Provide continual analysis of customer performance compared to the previous year, the plan, and the current forecast when applicable.
• Collaborate with the retail sales team to generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and assist in developing the annual sales budget.
• Review Key Performance Indicators and offer feedback or corrective action suggestions as needed.
• Establish, nurture, and maintain business relationships with current and potential customers.
• Investigate sources for identifying prospective customers and compile essential information to gauge their potential.
• Take an active role in comprehending essential requirements and legal language for formulating customer supply agreements.
• Communicate and coordinate sales activities with marketing, sales management, finance, operations, logistics, and technical services as needed.
• Accelerate the resolution of customer issues by collaborating effectively with internal and external team members.
• Collaborate with our team to create a competitive landscape summary that highlights advantages and potential gaps that could enhance sales if addressed.
• Analyze historical and current shipping data to formulate strategies that enhance business planning.
• Identify market trends within the entire category to stay updated on developments.
• Cultivate and sustain positive relationships with customers to build trust and understanding.
• Take charge of budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis.
• Provide management with verbal and written reports on customer needs, issues, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products or sales opportunities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive commercial experience with a CPG company or retailer is required.
• Experience and knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing operations are essential.
• Experience with Private Label is mandatory.
• Exceptional sales and negotiation skills.
• Must exhibit outstanding problem-solving capabilities and a results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
• Curiosity—Ability to analyze and comprehend financial information related to costing, operations, P&L modeling, and forecasting.
• Willingness to travel for on-site customer and team meetings as required, with travel averaging 25%—40% of the time, potentially exceeding 50% at times.
